Vintage graphic designs

The products shown here are based on work by design students during the 1950s at Dundee College of Art (now Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design). During that time, students took a general Diploma in Design which included graphic design, textile design, wallpaper design and more. The 1950s was an exciting time to study in this field, with new post-war industries, developments in science and technology and the influence of the Festival of Britain.

Gifts feature works by John T. Symington (1930–2015) and Kathleen A. Mowat (1931–2021). Purchases support the University of Dundee, Duncan of Jordanstone College Collection.
